What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We prefer to have an initial discussion with a potential client to give them some basic information about our company as well as to be able to ask them some general questions about their project. From there, we schedule a face to face meeting on their lot, potential lot or job site.  This allows us to view the topography of the build site, see the clients vision, discuss options and ideas and see any drawings or architectural plans.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We have over 30 years experience in the construction and building industry in Austin  as well as the surrounding areas.
Our company specializes in custom homes but we also have a division that does guest homes, additions, garages and roofing!  We are a full service construction company.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services?

We are a true custom home builder, therefore pricing will vary based on each clients specific wants and needs. We are happy to completely give pricing based on clients exact specifications prior to proceeding or to work with them as the project progresses.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We are happy to work with all customers.
In over 30 years of experience, we have worked with newlyweds to retirees.  We have worked with single people and people who were building as an investment.  People that were on a strict budget and people that the sky was the limit!  We have worked with clients that lived in another city to another of state.
We enjoy the diversity of our clientele!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

We advise all our clients to not rush the initial planning phase.  A complete set of architectural drawings and specifications, although not necessary to start, does help the construction process.
Hire a builder or contractor that you can work with - a custom home project takes time and you would like to have a good repoire with your builder.
Be patient - a true, quality custom home takes a reasonable amount of time.  You want to be happy with the end result and that will require involvement and time on your part as well as patience with the process.
Enjoy the process - building your dreams is an exciting time of your life!

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

If you are considering building a custom home, you should identify your needs versus your wants.
Number of bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, etc. are examples of needs.  Every home owner has certain needs that they require for their home.  These should be established along with a budget to begin the process.
Then you would want to look at your wants or "wish list".  This could be anything from an outdoor kitchen to a work-out room.
By establishing your needs vs. wants, it will really help steer you in the right direction!
